Holistic Homeopathy

What Is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a gentle, natural system of healing suitable for everyone including pregnant women and even newborn infants. Homeopathy focuses on you as an individual treating your specific physical, emotional and mental symptoms by stimulating your body's own healing power.

How Does It Work?

Homeopathy works by using a small dose of a naturally occurring substance to help stimulate the body's natural ability to heal.
This substance will be chosen to suit you as an individual, taking into account all of your symptoms and also general personality traits and likes/dislikes.

What Can It Treat?

Many conditions can be treated effectively by homeopathy, from acute illnesses to chronic conditions. It would be impossible to list them all, but some of the more common ones encountered are: stress and anxiety related states, insomnia, depression, hormonal imbalances including PMS, period problems, infertility and pregnancy related conditions, post-natal complaints, menopause, children's illnesses, urinary tract disorders, digestive and bowel problems, asthma and other respiratory tract illnesses, rheumatism, arthritis, eczema and other skin conditions etc. Also emotional disturbances following miscarriage can be effectively helped.
Homeopathy is also very effective when used in acute illnesses and in treating many of the consequences of accidents and injuries.
More specifically, homeopathy can effectively treat many of the problems relating to infertility, pregnancy, childbirth and post-partum conditions. Some of the more common conditions during pregnancy itself would be morning sickness, general nausea, vomiting, backache, headache, fatigue, digestive disturbances, hemorroids, emotional states - the list is endless! Your homeopath will also give advice about healthy eating and lifestyle, all of which contribute to a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Why Should I Try Homeopathy?

Homeopathic remedies are mainly made from natural materials and have no side-effects. They are particularly appealing to people who prefer natural products to conventional drugs, those with chronic conditions, and to parents and others responsible for the care of children. Homeopathic remedies are not tested on animals but on human volunteers. They are cost effective, eco-friendly and are usually made by smaller companies who have a genuine interest in health and the environment and not solely profit.

Are Homeopathic Remedies Safe During Pregnancy?

Homeopathic remedies are a unique, potentised energy medicine, drawn from the plant, mineral and animal worlds. They work by gently boosting the natural energy of the body, and are very safe, even for pregnant and sensitive patients, children and the elderly. There is no danger of addiction or toxicity.

What Will The Treatment Be Like?

Your homeopath will give you a homeopathic remedy, usually in the form of pills , which should be allowed to dissolve in your mouth; or you may be given a liquid remedy with instructions. Nothing else should be put in the mouth for 20 minutes before or after taking the tablet, not even toothpaste. Do make sure that you understand the instructions before you leave. If you are given homeopathic remedies to take at a later date be sure to store them in a cool dark place, away from anything with a strong smell. If you travel try to avoid putting the remedies through the X-ray scanner. Please tell your homeopath about any medicine or supplement that has been prescribed for you by your doctor or that you take regularly. Also mention any recent or immediate dental treatment. These may possibly affect your homeopathic prescription. If you are taking a homeopathic remedy and you feel that you need to take additional medication - consult with your homeopath to discuss how this might affect your homeopathic treatment. If you develop any symptoms that concern you, please discuss them with your homeopath.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

This depends very much on what sort of complaint you have, as well as the other individual characteristics of your case. So it is not realistic for your homeopath to assess this until it can be seen how you respond to the remedies prescribed. Most complaints however clear up rapidly.
